Friends list is amusing me a lot today. Somehow it seems that I'm the only person who does not hate the new Facebook connection. So much panic around... On the other hand, for me it's exactly what I've been wanting for months now. Since I don't really use Facebook for anything, this will help me to have something over there for people who don't use LJ. Don't really see a point in the comment reposting feature, though. Nor do I really appreciate the link to my Fakebook Facebook account on my profile here, but whatever, let it be there, then.

You have nailed exactly what the big problem is: the comment reposting feature. If it wasn't for that fact, and for the fact that it seems to work on f-locked posts and comments by other people, the only complaint people would have would be about how ugly it looks on some people's layouts.

I just see no reason for anyone to even bother with reposting their comments, so I guess that's also why I don't see it as the big problem everyone makes it out to be. Then again, it is likely to be a bigger concern for people with friends only journals.

Again, the reason why it's a big problem is because other people will be able to repost them without your permission. I have no problem with the concept of this new feature in general, and I doubt mot people have it, but it's this specific snag that is causing all the complaints.

Well, as helike said above, copy&paste existed before this as well. While this makes reposting easier, it was not impossible before either.

Yes, but while copy&paste was something the person do in their own accord, with this feature it's like LJ is sanctioning the breach of privacy. Hopefully with all the complaints LJ will realize the problem with this and fix it.
