Also, everyone on LJ seems to be going crazy over the addition of various sponsored things. And I just can't see what the problem is. Basically, Plus Sponsored accounts are getting more features, Basic Free users can also get some of the "Plus" features (if they wish), and companies will be able to have Sponsored Communities for example for their products, movies, etc. Paid and Permanent users won't still have to worry about any advertising. Maybe it's because I'm a permanent user myself, or maybe it's because I tend to be quite naive at times, but there really doesn't seem to be a problem for me. You don't have to join the sponsored communities. But I imagine that there could be some new things coming thanks to this that you never would've expected before. In a positive sense. Communities for your various favorite whatevers, access to updates to your games and other software right on your friends list without the need to check the various sites... The positive possibilities are endless too, so why does everyone see this only as a negative thing? I've stumbled on livejournals that are only there to point you to various pornsites long before this. Those are definitely worse. And really - a company could just make a community here anyway and show their advertising in the posts. Isn't it better when LiveJournal and its users actually get something from this too?
